BRIHADEESWARA TEMPLE

Peruvudaiyar Kovil is another name of the Brihadeeswara temple. And also known as the Raja Rajeswara Temple and Rajarajeswaram. The temple is belongs to the hindu region located in the state of tamilnadu in India at Thanjavur district.

TEMPLE COMPLEX:
  The temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva  talk about the architecture styles in 11th century  art of the Tamil architecture work achieved by the Cholas.
                The temple have different structures  in the buildings  the stands amidst fortified walls that was created in the 16th century .It is also  part of UNESCO World Heritage Site.







CONSTRUCTION:
                                   The entire temple is made up of granite inside the temple and the largest temple in India. Kumbam  is tamil name (Kalasha or Chikharam) at the top of the temple is made up of single stone and the weight of the single stone is nearly 80 tons . The 80 tons stone  is moved to the top  with the help of Elephants. Raja Raja chola I  emperor he used the 1000 Elephants for  building this temple.
                   The  temple  was  built per ancient texts popularly call as Vaastu Shastras and Agamas. At  ancient days the great architecture kunjara Mallan Raja Raja  Perunthachan as stated inscriptions of the temple. It was built  to grace the throne of the chola Empire. The building of the temple with measure of 1 3/8 inch as angular as equal to (24 units equaling 33 inches )called as Hasta,Muzam and Kishku. It is the first largest and greatest foundations laid by the tamil  Raja Raja Chola I (ARULMOZHIVARMAN).
